Few things are more delicious or more overlooked in the world of distilled spirits, than cooking with fine whiskies. Why is everyone so focused on cooking with wines when the complexity of single malts and bourbons as well as certain other handcrafted distilled creations are such amazing compliments to so many ingredients?

Come along on a sensory journey and begin to use your favorite drams in these great recipes. Many of these recipes come from Riannon's book, Whisky Dreams, and others are new ones she dreams up every time she steps into her farm's country kitchen and gardens.

Each recipes offers suggested whiskies and explains the styles, choices and regions giving you several options from which to choose. We highly recommend that you get creative and play with your own choices.

Remember; although most of these wonderful whisk(e)ys are precious, you are only using very small amounts in the recipes and there is no more expense involved than there would in cooking with the least expensive of wines.

Have fun and Bon Appetit!

Featured Drams

Every month we will be bringing you tasting notes, reviews and highlights about a different whisk(e)ys or artisanal distilled spirits. We invite you to taste along with us and send your thoughts and feedback to us through the email on our Contact Us page.

Spirits reviewed will be selected randomly for points of special interest and we receive absolutely no monetary renumeration for posting reviews!

All reviews and tasting notes are the work of Riannon Walsh and the product of her years as a professional 'nose'. Agree, disagree or add your own notes. There are no 'wrong' reviews in the spirits world! It's all about personal taste and standard of quality and these reviews are merely guidelines for you to use as you develop and enjoy your own collection of fine distilled spirits. The more you taste and nose, the more you learn about quality spirits. But ultimately what you like best, is what is best.

Cheers!
